Our Story
We recognize our history and DNA as The Ecclesia, and see ourselves as fulfilling the mission of those called to do the church’s Kingdom work in this and surrounding cities.
Where we come from
A church born in homes
The Ecclesia began as a house church and has known more than 15 years of the Holy Spirit’s presence. Today The Ecclesia is the church of Harvest Cry International. Our home base is Ada, Oklahoma, and our core group currently gathers in Frisco, TX and Corsicana, TX.
The Ecclesia is a tight-knit, apostolic ministry community focused on reaching the nations, where missionary households meet together in preparation for outreach.
The initial development
Calling, training, planting
The Calling
An extended time of core-group-wide prayer to build unity in the church body behind the goal and to identify those who are called.
The Training
A period and process where those who are called are trained to become lay leaders of the type of church envisioned, led by Dr. Pate, who has significant church planting knowledge and experience.
The Planting
When the training process is complete and we discern God’s timing, those called and trained are sent joyfully out to plant the new church among the people we are called to serve.
Discipleship
The primary focus of the church will be discipling others to become more like Christ through Spirit Filled Living. That requires personal spiritual growth; service to others, especially the poor and oppressed; and not just sharing the gospel but showing others the joy of becoming a Christ follower and how to experience that joy for themselves.
Relationship
Following Christ and helping others do so is all about relationships. We must be involved in other people’s lives, care enough about people to truly put their needs first, and live our lives in such a way that others see Christ in us every day and want to become more like him.
Missions
Members of the church consider themselves to be missionaries to the world around them. We live by the principle that church is not something we experience or attend, it is something we do, something we live; it is who we are.
Community
A church focused on the transformation of individuals and families living in the neighborhoods of Ada and the surrounding communities, committed to their spiritual, social, and economic transformation, and to making the sacrifices necessary to fulfill those commitments.
The model
Equipped, gifted, sent
The Equippers
Led by anointed and called couples and individuals who fulfill the qualifications of Ephesians 4 leaders, training and equipping the saints into their gifts, until they are mature, into the head, Christ Jesus.
The Gifted
The church will equip, enable, and send gifted Christians into Ada, Oklahoma, and the world.
The Lost
Reaching those who need a relationship to Jesus: World A, the unevangelized; World B, non-Christians living in churched culture; World C, professing, unaffiliated, and inactive unchurched Christians.
